SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS is pleased to present our two-day auction on May 6 - 7, 2023.
May 6 will consist of a dual auction: starting at 1 pm we are auctioning a host of photography and will follow with a charity auction supporting the non-profit Focus On AIDS. May 7 will feature modern and contemporary art.

FIRST: We will present over 100 works of photography by some of the most renowned photographers of our time, curated by Douglas Marshall of Marshall Gallery, Bergamot Station Arts Center, A6.
Some of the artists whose work will be available during our photography auction will include: Andy Warhol, Ansel Adams, Diane Arbus, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Lola Álvarez Bravo, William Eggleston, Elliot Erwitt, David Fokos, Robert Heinecken, Christopher Makos, Marvin Newman, Alex Prager, William Claxton, Brett and Edward Weston.
Photographs will be available for preview at Marshall Gallery, A6 starting April 14, gallery hours 11 am - 6 pm.

Following this, in support of the Focus On AIDS (FOA) Foundation, a charity founded in 1987 by Susan Baraz, Hossein Farmani and Robert Berman, we will commence a special benefit auction of 28 photographs.
FOA has decided to auction some of the remaining major works from its archive through SANTA MONICA AUCTIONS, with 100% of the hammer proceeds donated. A buyer's premium will be included. You will be able to purchase photography from artists including: Berenice Abbott, Lillian Bassman, George Hurrell, Allen Ginsburg, Elliott Erwitt as well as GOAT, A Tribute to Muhammad Ali, a Taschen book. Everything will be offered without reserve.
FOA is an all volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, who has held over 15 auctions over the last 30 years. Its Foundation has raised and donated millions of dollars for AIDS research, AIDS charities in the US, orphanages in Africa and Cambodia, and built a Children’s AIDS Hospital, “Asha Kirana” (Ray of Hope) in Mysore, India. It’s the only, stand-alone AIDS Hospital in the world. FOA has had the pleasure of giving so much, thanks to the generosity of the photographers, galleries, collectors and all those who contributed to the largest photo benefit event ever held in the United States.
