Exhibition Opening: Saturday, September 9, 5-9PM
Building Bridges Art Exchange @buildingbridges_ax is proud to present our collaborative Summer Artists and Scientists residence and exhibition; bridging the arts, science and technology and exploring sea level rise in Los Angeles and beyond.
It is an honor for our organization to host artists Guillermo Anselmo Vezzosi @guillermoanselmovezzosi, Osceola Refetoff @ospix, and scientist Dr. Eric Larour @ericlarour (Group Supervisor for the Sea Level and Ice Group, in the Earth Sciences Section of JPL, NASA). The residency process and exhibition is under the curatorial practice of Marisa Caichiolo @marisacaichiolo @mcla.curatorial.
The exhibition will combine scientific data, artistic interpretations, and interactive elements to engage visitors in understanding the effects, causes, and potential responses to rising sea levels. The goal of the residency is to highlight the urgency and relevance of this issue, emphasizing the need for interdisciplinary collaboration.
This program is possible thanks to the support of the City of Santa Monica @cityofsantamonica @art.samo, the Getty Marrow Program @gettymuseum(providing a curatorial assistant internship for Jesse Hernandez), and The Broad @thebroadmuseum Diversity Apprenticeship Program.
